Support for Volunteer Involving Organisations
Volunteer Centres aim to recruit volunteers for local voluntary, community and statutory organisations. We also provide support, information and advice for the organisations involved while they have volunteers placed with them.
We can:
- Ensure your opportunities are publicised in local media and through the national volunteering database, do-it.org.uk .
- Broker volunteers and help them find the placement that suits them best, to ensure both you and your volunteers have a positive experience
- Provide you with information and guidance on working with volunteers
- Provide support, advice and assistance for both you and your volunteers during their placement
- Keep you informed about local and national developments that affect volunteers and the voluntary sector, and ensure volunteers’ interests are represented.
Why involve volunteers?
Volunteers have:
- Enthusiasm and commitment
- Access to new resources and increased networking
- Greater breadth of skills and experience
- Greater degree of community involvement and information
- Greater awareness of your organisation’s goals and work in the local area
We also provide a Good Practice guide.
